The statue was unveiled in June 1898, and the sculptor died in 1935[1], putting the statue in PD in both the U.S. and New Zealand. New Zealand Historic Places Trust Register number: 4758. Stuart was the first minister of Knox Church (1860 – 1894). The building in the background is Queens Gardens Court
