DescriptionReserve Sgt. Toni Ann Valdner with military police patrol car.jpg |
English: March is recognized internationally as women’s month to honor the contributions of women throughout history. This month allows us the opportunity to recognize and highlight a few women currently serving in the Kosovo Force Regional Command East ranks. Scattered throughout KFOR RC-E women are proving to be idols in their own right as they exemplify attributes of the military’s values and the overall KFOR mission.
US Army Reserve Sgt. ToniAnn Valdner Valdner has been in for six years as a military police officer and is currently working with the Task Force Military Police. “I joined the military because I knew it would be a solid foundation to start my life,” said Valdner. “The Army has given me strength, family, experience, and stability.” Dedicated and motivated to better her life and be an example for future generations, Valdner continues to develop herself personally and professionally. “Some of my goals and aspirations in the military is to become a drill sergeant and go to air assault school. On the civilian side, I am working on becoming a New York police officer and branch out into profiling,” said Valdner. “I have a degree in criminal justice and am working on a bachelor’s in forensic psychology.” Her small frame is overshadowed by her powerful personality and determination. “Sometimes, people underestimate me because of my size, but that just makes me work twice as hard and motivates me to be the strongest I can be in every aspect of my life,” said Valdner. Valdner is an Operation Enduring Freedom veteran and is excited to share all her knowledge and experience with her Soldiers during this KFOR rotation. “Do the right thing, and no one can ever question your character,” said Valdner. |
