English: No. 4 of Hundred Thousand Scenes. Painting by Ren Xiong, a pioneer of the Shanghai School of Chinese art; ca. 1850.
Français : Ren Xiong, vers 1850. Quatrième peinture de Cent mille scènes. Papier, poudre d'or et couleurs. H. 26.3cm ; L. 20.5cm。Ce cahier est composé de 10 paysages créés par Ren Xiong dans ses dernières années. L'album est basé sur le paysage du lac Taihu à Suzhou, au sens large. Par exemple, les deux peintures intitulées «Wanxi Chaotian» et «Wanheng Xiangxue» se réfèrent à des collines de Suzhou, Tianping et Xiangxuehai. Mais c’est plutôt le paysage du lac de l’Ouest à Hangzhou, et le «flux d’air vide» et la «fumée de Wanyu» des îles imaginaires et des paysages de la région Xiaoxiang, aux magnifiques paysages, situés à la confluence des rivières Xiao et Xiang, dans la région de Changsha, aujourd'hui province de Hunan. En bref, le peintre résume la beauté et la jouissance du monde avec ce qu’il y a de plus beau. L’artiste utilise pleinement la couleur de fond du papier enrichi d’or, de sorte que la couleur verte soit plus colorée et l'effet artistique plus élégant.
中文:[海上畫派]《十萬圖》冊

清(~1850年),任熊繪,泥金箋,設色,每開縱26.3cm,橫20.5cm。

《十萬圖》冊是任熊晚年創作的10幅山水精品,因題目均以“萬”字起首而得名,即“萬卷詩樓”、“萬點青蓮”、“萬峰飛雪”、“萬笏朝天”、“萬竿煙雨”、“萬松疊翠”、“萬林秋色”、“萬壑爭流”、“萬丈空流”、“萬橫香雪”,以寓至多盡善、完滿俱足之意。該圖冊多取材於蘇州太湖一帶的山水而內容又有所擴大,如“萬笏朝天”、“萬橫香雪” 即以蘇州天平山和香雪海為素材,“萬點青蓮”描繪的應是杭州西湖的景色,而“萬丈空流”、“萬竿煙雨”則是想象中的海島和瀟湘奇景。總之,畫家是以“十”、“萬”來概括天下美景與賞心樂事。作品筆法細膩,構思精微,意境深邃,併富有裝飾趣味,於寫實中充滿浪漫情調。尤其是作者充分運用金箋紙的底色作用,使青綠設色逾顯得絢麗多彩,濃艷華貴而不失雅逸的藝術效果。
