English: Justice Gavin W. Craig was an associate justice of Division Two of the Second District of the State Courts of Appeal. His right to hold that position was challenged, on the basis of charges of attempted obstruction of justice in the Italo Petroleum Company case. There was a State Assembly hearing in the California State Building in which the Los Angeles Bar Association … demanded that the Assembly and Senate remove the justice [Gavin W. Craig.] by concurrent resolution. William Mosley Jones of Montebello; Ralph Wallace of San Diego, and Ralph L. Welsh of Los Angeles, with Jones acting as chairman, conducted the Assembly hearing, took statements of the Los Angeles Bar Association representatives and of other interested parties.
