English: The Baltimore and Potomac Railroad Station located at 6th and Pennsylvania Avenue, NW and has sometimes been refered to as the Pennsylvania Railroad Station. Built in 1873 and was the site of President James A. Garfield's assassination in 1881. In 1903 engineer Joseph Broady left the station on an ill-fated trip to Atlanta, which was immortalized in the famous ballad "The Wreck of the Old 97." In 1907 the building was razed.
