English: An airport rail link electric train owned by Railink, a subsidiary of Kereta Api Indonesia and Angkasa Pura II, resting on track 7 in Manggarai station, Jakarta after a test run before being shunted into Manggarai workshop, October 2017.
Railink ordered ten completely knocked-down (CKD) 6-car sets of electric multiple unit to Bombardier in 2016. All of them assembled in Industri Kereta Api's workshop in Madiun, East Java, to meet the government rules of the usage of local components. These trains are then forwarded to Jakarta by rail, hauled with a diesel engine.
The Railink's airport rail link service is branded "Airport Railink Services" or ARS. The first ARS service was inaugurated in 2013 and serves Medan City-Kualanamu International Airport route. The Medan's ARS is served by four 4-car sets of diesel-electric multiple unit made by South Korea's Woojin Industries. Jakarta's ARS is the second to be operated starting in 2018, as a part of the preparation of the 2018 Asian Games.
