English: Rail Cross-section Flat Bottom with Baseplate between rail and sleeper. Note that spike (purple) are widely spaced which reduces the overturning moment. Some kind of spring clip is needed beween the rail and the baseplate. These clips can be undone or redone using a slefge hammer without disturbing the spikes or screws sitting in the sleeper. |
