Summary
| Description |
English: A woman inspects the items tied to a rag tree at the Hill of Tara. The tree here is somewhat unique - tourists and other passers-by tend to leave mementos here, leading to an eclectic mix of rosary beads, cloth, underwear and children's soothers. A local tradition has it that when a child's soother is left on the rag tree they will no longer need it. This is a variation of the popular belief regarding the leaving of a strip of cloth from the clothes of one who is ill. |
