English: John Gretzer Jr., private, Company D, First Nebraska Volunteers. Wounded by a Mauser bullet on March 27, 1899, in the Philippine Islands during the Spanish-American War. Radiograph of the left side, showing a Mauser bullet lodged in the brain in the region of the left occipital lobe. Taken August 20, 1899, by Elizabeth Fleischman.
