English: Built in 1990, this Postmodern-style 17-story 230-foot-tall skyscraper houses offices for the government of the State of Pennsylvania, and was named for environmental activist and conservationist Rachel Carson, whom was native to Pennsylvania. The building features exterior horizontal panels and ribbon windows, bold contrasting geometric forms, a vertical curtain wall above the front entrance, and a front podium with a stair-stepping portion and a semi-circular portion flanking the front plaza.
