Description
English: Rabaul under air attack by B-25's of ComAirSols Bomber Command. This strategic town became the vortex of attention for south and southwest Pacific planners in 1942 and early 1943. Lakunai, one of Rabaul's five airdromes, lies on the peninsula at the top center of this picture.
