Potrivit anexei nr. 1, stema comunei Ilieni se compune dintr-un scut triunghiular cu marginile rotunjite. În câmp albastru se află o bornă de hotar, argintie, deasupra căreia sunt două săbii încrucişate, argintii, cu mânerul şi garda de aur. Săbiile sunt flancate în dreapta de un soare, iar în stânga de o semilună figurată, crescătoare, de argint. Borna de hotar este înconjurată de 3 stele cu câte 6 raze aurii.Scutul este trimbrat de o coroană murală de argint cu un turn crenelat.

Semnificaţiile elementelor însumate: Elementele se regăsesc în vechea stemă a localităţii. Borna de hotar semnifică faptul că localitatea se află la graniţa dintre Ţinutul Secuiesc şi Ţara Bârsei. Soarele şi semiluna simbolizează aşezarea comunei către partea secuiască. Săbiile încrucişate arată că locuitorii zonei au folosit toate modalităţile de a-şi păstra bunurile şi obiceiurile. Cele 3 stele simbolizează numărul de sate componente ale comunei. Coroana murală cu un turn crenelat semnifică faptul că localitatea are rangul de comună.
