Summary

Description
English: In Grand Harbour, Malta, RN aircraft carrier, HMS Eagle (R05), anchored by Ricasoli fort, with possibly the British troopship, ‘Nevasa’, in the foreground. This was the time of the Suez Crisis. HMS Eagle was involved but this picture is believed to date post Crisis. After publication of this picture it has been pointed out by Lindemann97 that the vessel in the foreground might be the liner SS Uganda, which on its return to London on the East African service, did call at Malta. The hulls of all B.I. passenger ships had been repainted white with a black band in 1955.
