DescriptionRAF Donna Nook aerial 2014 - geograph.org.uk - 3883861.jpg
English: H.Q. of the Air to Ground Weapons Range.
Running down the photo from the coast is a clear line, seen as a drain in the foreground. Behind the camera the line continues and at one point is marked on old maps as a bank, so I suspect this is the line of an old sea wall. Further evidence that this was once the shoreline can be found in the presence of "The Ark" marked on old maps to the south on the line of this drain (behind the camera). Apparently The Ark (as opposed to the present day animal sanctuary of that name in Ark Road) was an inn, with moorings for boats.
A footpath is marked on the old maps running down this drain (probable sea wall ) line from the shore to the north to Red Farm (now demolished: see TF4397 : Former R.A.F. Donna Nook: aerial 2014.
