The image is a historically significant image of which no free image is available for. The image has high encyclopedic value to illustrate the dress which was worn at the wedding of Princess Elizabeth and Philip Mountbatten, Duke of Edinburgh. The image is of a low resolution and is believed not to affect the copyright holder in any way. This particular image reveals the front of the dress and how it looked when sitting which is irreplaceable and is needed to put the subject in context. The image, taken by Baron, is owned by The Royal Household of the British Royal Family. The photographer died in 1956, so the copyright will expire on at the end of the year 2026, 70 years from his death, which in the United Kingdom is the length of copyright. As the URAA restored copyright, this photo will be free at the end of the year 2042, 95 years after its original publication, which in the United States is the copyright's length. |
