Description
English: Japanese incense box. 1700-1800. Wood; black, gold and silver lacquer; paper, bamboo, metal, feather and ivory. Given to Prince Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh by Emperor Meiji 1869. From the Royal Collection. Displayed in an exhibition at the Queen's Gallery 2023.
