"On sandstone pebbles in a semi-arid annual grassland setting. Took one quick look and confirmed polarilocular spores, mostly deformed so the isthmus measurements might be exaggerated. Average size was 15.1×8.0µm with isthmus 5.8µm (n=4). Haven’t seen this before, so needs a little more work but looks pretty good for Caloplaca (=Pyrenodesmia) varabilis."
