English: Pygmy Carrying Crane. Potted by Sotades, about 460-450 BC from Ruvo. British Museum.
Pottery rhyton in the form of a pygmy. Red unvarnished ware. The upper part forming the rhyton is broken away. The lower part of the vase is in the form of a pigmy moving to his right; he is bald and bearded, with grotesque features. He carries a dead crane on left shoulder; his right arm is bent, and rests on a support.
