Summary

Description T. Wheaton King, aged 19, The Wilson Library, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Wounded and taken prisoner at the First Battle of Bull Run, July 21, 1861; Was brought to Richmond; Died at Philadelphia, January 28, 1862. A narrative of the campaign of the First Rhode Island Regiment, in the spring and summer of 1861: illustrated with a portrait and map (1862), p. 204 APPENDIX D. On 29 July 1861, David King, M.D., of Newport, R.I., wrote to Col. William Porcher Miles, C.S.A., inquiring about the fate of his son: "I enclose a photograph of my son, though very poorly taken. If dead it may be the means of designating his body."
