Summary

Description
English: Puli koddel (as we call this in konkani) is one of the traditional and authentic Udupi recipes made specially during the festive season in the temples. This dish is considered as “Sathvik food” as it contains no onions and garlic and eaten as a side dish along with rice and rasam. It is a staple in all meals served in Konkani Venkatramana temples world wide.Typically, the dish is made using Mangalore/yellow cucumber, but you could also use ash gourd or bottle gourd (lauki in hindi) and they all taste the same.
