English: A mixture of 20mg and 10mg propranolol tablets. The 20mg tablets are blue, both types are generic Novopharm (Teva) instant-release tablets. The brand name for this drug is Inderal, but the instant-release formulation is only available as a generic (in Canada at least). Propranolol instant-release should not be confused with propranolol extended-release (branded as Inderal LA, but also widely available as a generic). The dosages of instant-release propranolol and extended-release propranolol cannot be directly compared/converted in terms of frequency or size because the pharmacokinetics of the extended-release propranolol are significantly different from the pharmacokinetics of instant-release propranolol. |
