Description
English: Lisa Jardine is Professor of Renaissance Studies at UCL and Director of the UCL Centre for Editing Lives and Letters. She is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and an Honorary Fellow of King’s College, Cambridge and Jesus College, Cambridge. She holds honorary doctorates of letters from the University of St Andrews, Sheffield Hallam University and the Open University, and of science from the University of Aberdeen.

She was a Trustee of the Victoria and Albert Museum for eight years and a member of the Council of the Royal Institution for five years. She is Patron of the Archives and Records Association and the Baileys Women’s (formerly Orange) Prize for Fiction, and President of the Antiquarian Horological Society.

From 2008 to 2014, Lisa was Chair of the UK Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority. She is a Non-executive Director of the National Archives and an Honorary Bencher of the Society of the Middle Temple. From 2013 to 2014, she served as President of the British Science Association, which made her an Honorary Fellow in 2012.
