In the caption for this picture, Robert Temple writes:

Deficiency diseases were recognized in China by at least the 3rd century AD. Here we see the frontispiece to the classic discussion of the subject, Principles of Correct Diet by Hu Ssu-Hui, published in 1330. The picture shows nutritian specialists giving a consultation to a patient. The caption reads: 'Many diseases can be cured by diet alone.'
