English: Princess Elizabeth in 2006. This is the return working of "The Mid-day Scot" excursion in 2006, hauled by Princess class 4-6-2 #6201. It ran to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the inauguration of the first non-stop passenger service from London Euston-Glasgow Central. This was originally made possible by the introduction of these enormous locomotives which were the first to be able to carry enough coal to avoid the need for a loco change en route.
