Description
English: Front page of the first issue of the Mexican newspaper Excélsior, from March 18, 1917, the second oldest running newspaper in Mexico after El Universal. The top headline addresses events of the Russian Revolution, particularly the abdication and subsequent arrest of Tsar Nicholas II. Other headlines at the top address events related to the Zimmerman Telegram, through which Germany proposed an alliance with Mexico against the United States during the First World War, while the Mexican Revolution was taking place simultaneously.

El titular superior de la página habla de eventos de la Revolución rusa, particularmente la abdicación y posterior arresto del zar Nicolás II. Otros titulares en la parte superior hablan de eventos relacionados con el telegrama Zimmerman, mediante el cual Alemania propuso una alianza con México en contra de los Estados Unidos durante la Primera Guerra Mundial, mientras que la Revolución mexicana sucedía simultáneamente.
