Description
English: The magnetic moment of a nucleus precesses around the direction of an external magnetic field (green). The direction of the precession depends on the sign of the gyromagnetic ratio, γ. Here the precession is depicted for nuclei with γ > 0 (e.g. protons).
Deutsch: Das magnetische Moment eines Atomkern präzidiert um die Achse eines externen Magnetfeldes (grüne). Die Rotationsrichtung hängt vom Vorzeichen des kernspezifischen gyromagnetischen Verhältnis, γ, ab. Die Darstellung zeigt die Rotationsrichtung für γ > 0 (wie z.B. bei Protonen).
