Summary

Description
English: Pre-Clinical Medicine (A1) UCAS application and acceptances statistics, 2007 - 2014. See UCAS source links for Cycle Year*, Application** and Acceptance*** definitions.[1][2]

*Cycle Year is defined as: The cycle in which the application was processed. I.e. Cycle Year 2007 means the application was submitted in the academic year starting September 2007, for University entry in September 2008 onwards.

**Application is defined as: A choice to a course in higher education through the UCAS main scheme. Each applicant can make up to five choices, which was reduced from six in 2008. The number of applications does not include choices made through the following acceptance routes: Clearing, Extra, Adjustment and RPAs. And A1 applicants are limited to four choices instead of the usual five.

***Acceptances is defined as: As an applicant who has been placed for entry into higher education.

A1 is the Subject Group identifier for all UCAS 'Pre-Clinical Medicine' courses. This means any UCAS course that starts A1 followed by two additional numbers (A1XX), i.e. A100, A101, A102 etc., fall into this category; where A100 typically represents the 5 year undergraduate entry course, A101 typically represents the 4 year graduate entry course, and A102 typically represents the 6 year widening access course etc.
