Summary

Description
English: The Pottertown Bridge Burners monument off Pottertown Road near Mosheim, Tennessee, United States. This monument commemorates the pro-Union guerrillas from the area who burned the railroad bridge over nearby Lick Creek on November 8, 1861, as part of a larger plan to make way for a Union Army invasion. The monument has six sides, including one describing the actions of the bridge-burners, and one apiece for each of the participants who were subsequently hanged by Confederate authorities: Henry Harmon, Jacob Harmon, Jacob Hinshaw, Christopher Haun, and Henry Fry. The top rim of the monument reads: "In the hour of their country's peril, they were loyal and true." Jacob and Henry Harmon are buried in the family cemetery in the distance on the right.
