English: A hand-powered earth auger for digging post holes, with two vertical blades instead of the usual screw blade. From Telephony magazine, volume 9 (1905), page 537. The entry is titled "Iwan Post Hole and Well Auger". It comes in "10, 12, and 14 inch" sizes for telephone pole installation, smaller 4 and 5 inch for anchors.
