Summary
| Description |
English: Main locks in Port Carling. Originally constructed in the 19th century to accommodate steam ships travelling from Gravenhurst, and later Bala, ferrying train passengers further up the lake system from the newly built Grand Trunk Railway. Picture is taken standing on a road draw bridge which passes over the locks and must be raised for larger ships and yachts or sailboats with masts. |
