Description

Lifesaving Station at Point Reyes National Seashore. The station from 1927 is situated at Chimney Rock on the southern shore and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1989. View of the station,

looking E-S-E. Note the 36-foot lifeboat on the launchway. Only the white building and the launchway are preserved, the structure behind and the one in the background were removed around the closure of the station in 1968.
