English: On June 5, Philippine Senator Migz Zubiri visited Vatican City, where he met with Pope Francis I. Accompanied by his wife, Audrey, and their three young children, as well as the Philippine Ambassador to the Holy See, Myla Grace Ragenia Macahilig, the Zubiri family was among a select group of guests who received a personal blessing from the Pope. During their meeting, Zubiri introduced his family to Pope Francis and discussed his commitment to pro-life and pro-family legislative principles in the Philippines. The Pope urged Zubiri to protect the Filipino family amid growing calls for the legalization of divorce in the country. Zubiri noted that his visit to Europe included this encounter with the Pope as part of a brief sabbatical aimed at spending quality time with his family, away from political responsibilities. |
