Description
English: Map showing location of Pont-Chardon in Normandy, in the 11th century held by Robert de Pont-Chardon (Punchardon) who took part in the Norman Conquest of England in 1066 and was granted lands in North Devon (incl. Heanton Punchardon) by his overlord Baldwin the Sheriff (d.1090), alias Baldwin de Meulles or Baldwin du Sap, both of which manors (Meulles and Le Sap) were near Pont-Chardon in Normandy.
