Description
Español: Polycyathus muellerae

Este coral es propio del mar Mediterráneo, y se distribuye por todas las costas de la Península Ibérica, hasta el Golfo de Vizcaya.

Forma colonias que se extienden horizontalmente por el sustrato, aunque a veces se observan formaciones arborescentes. Normalmente son de color marrón, con los tentáculos marrones o verdes brillantes. A veces se alternan en la corona de tentáculos el marrón y el blanco.

Suele aparecer en grietas, fisuras, oquedades, paredes contraplomadas y pequeñas cuevas, entre los 5 y los 20 metros de profundidad.

Suelen hospedar a una gran variedad de pequeños animalillos y algas.
