Norsk bokmål: En nekin, som er hovedbasisen i pyrrolizidinalkaloider. Disse reagerer da med en eller flere syrer til de ferdige alkaloidene. Disse alkaloidene er ekstremt vanlige i rubladfamilien, og en unergruppen av kurvplantefamilien med navn Senecioneae.

English: A necine, witch is the main base in pyrrolizidin alkaloides. These bases racts with one or more acids, and forms pyrrolizidin alkaloids. These alkaloids are extremly common in plants contained in Boragiaceae, a subgroup of Asteraceae with the name Senecioneae.
