English: Special placement for initiation of men in the ceremonial house of the village Apangai, Papua New Guinea, 1984.Nowadays placed in the State Museum of Etnology, Leiden, The Netherlands.In the front one sees the clanfounder Tappoka. Behind him: female jungle-ghosts, clan-ancestors and mythical ancestors like the creator of the yam-tuber.
Nederlands: Opstelling voor een mannen-initatie in het dorp Apangai, Papoea Nieuw Guinea in 1984.Nu te zien in het Rijksmuseum voor Volkenkunde, Leiden, Nederland.Op de voorgrond zit de clanstichter Tappoko. Achter hem: vrouwelijke oerwoudgeesten, voorouders en mythische voorouders zoals de schepper van de yam-knol.
Español: Erección especial para la iniciacion de hombres (1984) en la casa de las ceremonias del pueblo Apangai, Papua Nueva Guinea.En el frente se vea el fundador del clan Tappoka. Detrás del fundador: los genios selváticos, los antepassados y antepassados mitologicos como el creador del yam-nabo.
