Summary

Description From Costa Rica to northwestern Colombia, the anesthetic leaves of this species were once chewed to alleviate toothache, and this gave it the name of Duelemeboca. Some of the native groups called it Kana and also used it as a fish poison. Photo from the Darien of Panama.
