English: Detail of a small stand of Physochlaina praealta ( Solanaceae ) flowering in the wild near the north shore of Lake Manasarovar ( visible in the background), near the sacred Mount Kailash, Tibet. A medicinal plant, rich in tropane alkaloids. Used locally in the treatment of boils. Also dried and used locally as a pesticidal bedding material for livestock - said to kill / repel fleas, lice etc. An early-flowering, hardy, herbaceous perennial with attractive flowers. Very rare in cultivation in the U.K. - for reasons unknown.
