English: Ricky Powell (1961-2021). The legendary photographer Ricky Powell on January 25th 2020 at the International Center For Photography (ICP) in New York City attending the opening of the exhibit "Contact High: A Visual History Of Hip Hop", of which he was a major contributor.
Powell was best known for his work with the Beastie Boys and is often referred to as the fourth Beastie Boy. He had also worked with Madonna, Run DMC, Andy Warhol, and Laurence Fishburne.
His images have been featured in The New York Times, The New York Post, The Daily News, The Village Voice, TIME, Newsweek, VIBE, The Source, Rolling Stone and other publications.
