Summary

Description
English: Summary of light and dark reactions (rxns) used by (A) oxygenic and (B) anoxygenic photoautotrophs. The question mark next to the sun in (B) indicates that only some anoxygenic phototrophs use oxygen in their dark reactions. Biomass is represented by the general formula for a carbohydrate ((CH2O)n). This figure is based on Figure 17.2 of Madigan et al. (2003).
