Summary

Description
English: Campfire (phingbodhipakkiya_amanda_03.jpg)

Completed: September 2019, as part of solo show ‘Connective Tissue’ Dimensions: 9’ x 11’ Materials: fluorescent lights, gels, wiring, custom boards, polyvinyl chloride

Three translucent pressure-sensitive chairs surrounded by an array of multicolored fluorescent lights invite visitors to recline. As individuals sit and trigger cool and warm light tones to activate, the piece examines and reveals the power of group action to transform the challenges we face as a society: climate change, political reform, economic transformation, none can be overcome by isolated, individual effort.
