Phimeanakas (char ou palais céleste) Fin Xè siècle - début XIè siècle Temple édifié dans le palais royal sous Suryavarman Ier appelé la "Tour d'or" par Tcheou Ta-Kouan, voyageur chinois Le petit temple-montagne du Phimeanakas (3 niveaux sur 12m) était une sorte de"chapelle" privée située dans l'enceinte du Palais Royal. Cet édifice a été aménagé probablement au Xème siècle sur le site d'un temple plus ancien. Les escaliers sont bordés de lions gardiens, des éléphants se dressent aux angles.
