Summary

Description
English: This image shows an outcrop of metarhyolite formerly assigned to the Petaca Schist, but now recognized as highly altered Burned Mountain Formation of the Vadito Group. The radiometric age of this rock is 1700 million years, corresponding to the Statherian Period of the Paleoproterozoic. It is interpreted as ash flows associated with volcanism of the Yavapai orogeny, deposited in the Pilar Basin.
