Description On his first visit to Haifa, United States Ambassador to Israel, Dan B. Shapiro, visited the Technion, where he was welcomed by Technion President Prof. Peretz Lavie. He met and congratulated Nobel Laureate Distinguished Professor Dan Shechtman, the Technion’s third Nobel laureate and sole winner of the 2011 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his discovery of quasicrystals, a new form of matter.
