English: The picture is taken inside Tsion church found in Aksum in April, 2013. Tsion church is believed to be the place where Arc of the covenant is found.
I found three old men giving away 'emnet' which was kept on a 'sefed tray' to people who came to attend Palm sunday known in Ethiopia as 'Hosaena'. Hosaena is celebrated to remember the journey Juseus took to Jerusalem. It falls on a sunday found before Easter. 'Emnet' is given in Ethiopian orthodox church and it is prayed on and people usually put it on top of a painful area in their bodies or use it to feel safe and protected by God. |
