Kimisis Church of Panagia Sami (Κοίμησης της Παναγίας στη Σάμη) Sami, Cephalonia, Greece
Notes
The small inscription at the bottom mentions the monk Raphael Aninos. He commissioned the work. He was related to Bernard Aninos the subject of Andreas Karantinos's famous work Virgin Glykofilousa. Both works were completed around the same period. The church the painting was dedicated was the monastery of Agios Fanentos. The church was destroyed with time. The icon is currently in the Church of Panagia Sami in Cephalonia.
