English: CLdf-PB0004: Pamphlet, Adieux de madame la duchesse de Polignac aux françois, suivis des adieux de François à la même. Entry page of the second part "Adieux des François a la duchesse de Polignac (Farewell of the french people to the countess de Polignac)" of the Pamphlet "Adieux de madame la duchesse de Polignac aux françois, suivis des adieux de François à la même".

The publication was printed anonymous in the year 1789 under the pseudonym "Par l´Auteur de sa Maladie". It contains Text against the hated countess, who had left Versailles and France for safety reasons directly after the storming of the Bastille. The Pamphlet is subdivided into the two parts "Adieux de madame la duchesse de Polignac aux François (Farewell of the countess de Polignac to the people of France)" and "Adieux des François a la duchesse de Polignac (Farewell of the french people to the countess de Polignac)", wich is shown here.

Extract of the Text, [p. 9, breaks 1, 2, 3] Citation: "Fuis loin de nous, fuis, monstre odieux, vomi par les enfers, fuis en te cachant, serpent venimeux, dont l'haleine ampoisonnée infectera tous les pays où tu sauras te glisser. Vas, vas porter au loin les exhalaisons tachantes de ton corps impur. Elles n'ont pu altérer l'éclat brillant du nom François, et tes efforts meurtriers, tes poignards homicides n'ont pu entamer ce peuple de héros. Long-temps, pour le dégrader, l'avilir, tu as semé dans son sein les crimes et les vices, et il s'est conservé vertueux. Long-temps tu as épuisé tes efforts pour l'étousser, l'écraser sous le joug d'un despotisme honteux: plus que jamais il est fort, plus que jamais il est libre." [...]
