English: Architectural features
Both from a typological point of view and from an architectural point of view, Palazzo Caroelli offers itself as the outcome of a (unfortunately anonymous) design phase with a clearly Lombard imprint. The plan, in fact, characterized by the central portico with three lights, as a distribution element, with the staircase and the representative rooms on the ground floor, is modeled according to the most renowned examples of country houses developed in Lombardy between the seventeenth and the eighteenth century. Even for the risers (with the use of the mezzanine floor above the noble ground floor and the central pavilion with a soaring roof on the south facade), reference must be made to building practices typical of the Lombard capital and which have persisted over the centuries.
