Description
English: Paignton : Paignton Zoo, Ostriches The ostrich is a world-record holder. It is the largest bird in the world, it lays the biggest egg in the world (eating one ostrich egg would be like eating 40 hens eggs) and it is the fastest creature with two legs. It is also the only bird with two toes, an adaptions which helps it to run at up to 44mph. It lives on open grassland and eats grasses, seed, leaves and sometimes small animals.
