Description
Português: Óleo sobre tela, 1680 x 1280 mm. Casa Cadaval, Muge, Portugal.
Obra de autor desconhecido com a efígie do célebre padre jesuíta, retratado num escritório, com o manuscrito da Clavis Prophetarum, obra deixada inédita e só publicada e traduzida em 2000.

A legenda declara:

«Retrato verdadeiro do Reverendo Padre António Vieira da Companhia de Jesus, natural de Lisboa , varão insigne em todas as ciências, e muito mais em virtude, foi de humildade e caridade heróica: em Roma convenceu hereges, na África reduziu nações inteiras, sofreu com suma fortaleza as maiores perseguições. O Papa Clemente X o honrou singularmente na hora em que expirou, apareceu sobre o Colégio da Baía, uma grande luz. Faleceu aos 4 de Julho de 1697 de quase 90 anos de Idade.»
